The Sun Country Golf Marathon goes into its third year in 2013 gaining momentum from very successful years in 2011 and 2012. Golf professionals, amateurs and junior golfers commit to play 100 holes of golf in one day! Your pledge will help our efforts to the grow the game of golf for young people in New Mexico and El Paso, TX, as well as supporting other worthy causes. Proceeds from the Golf Marathon are shared between the Foundation and a charity of the marathoner's choice.
In its first two years, committed volunteers made up of PGA Professionals, amateurs and junior golfers have raised over $72,000! Part of the proceeds have gone back to many deserving charities in New Mexico, Texas and across the country, while the balance has gone to the Sun Country Junior Golf Foundation, a joint charitible effort of the Sun Country PGA and Sun Country Amateur Golf Association. With the Junior Golf Foundation's share, we are bringing a golf curriculum to P.E. classes in elementary and middle schools and funding other growth of the game and junior golf programs. This is only the beginning! Help us keep young people active in the game of a lifetime!
